Welcome to my first official blog on blogspot. I am a little nervous as I don't think I have much to say, so I will just share my life. We had Thanksgiving this weekend and it sure was a wonderful time of R&R! We needed it after being on the road for the whole year. Thursday was full as well as our tummies with Turkey, dressing, fall vegetables of the grandest kind, fluffy mashed potatoes, succulent sweet potato casserole, apple and cranberry crumble, pumpkin cheesecake, and mini cheeseburgers. Somehow, I don't think that the pilgrims included mini cheeseburgers in their first meal with the Native Americans, but it is a tradition now at the Thigpen house, courtesy of Paula Deen, and boy-oh-boy are they great! Friday we hit "Black Friday" at the mall but only for about an hour, it was all our psyche and our wallets could stand. Then we came home and did something we have not done in about a year. We laid down on the couch, and didn't get up for the entire night, except to unleash the fury of food once again, all while catching up with the hours of nothingness saved on the DVR. Wow, was it great! Saturday, my hubs and I went on a field trip around Orlando with our dear friend, Miss Deidra Hughes. She was having Ryan take photos of her for her new cd cover. I know I am biased, but I have to admit, he sure has a talent and an eye for it! It was great to help him in action and Deidra looked oh-so-gorgeouso as always! It was a fun afternoon.
Lastly, I will leave you with this. Many of you know or may not know that this past year has been a very difficult season for me with changes in my career, etc. I want to leave you with encouragement the Lord has brought to me over and over in this verse, and it seems very apropos with the season we are in. May the Lord bless you with this and sustain you as only the Lord of the Harvest can do....
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9 (NIV)
